Louis Oosthuizen has left his dire Open record in the past to storm to the clubhouse lead on day two of the Open Championship. The South African, who failed to make the discount golf cut in his first three attempts, enjoyed a round of 67 to add to his day one card of 65 to sit atop the leaderboard at 12-under.
Despite bogeys at the 11th and 13th, the 27-year-old taylormade r9 irons rolled home seven birdies to overtake day one leader Rory McIlroy, who tees off at 1.31pm.
“That would be great,” he said. Everyone wants to be playing in the last group at a Major and that would be awesome. And Oosthuizen is delighted at callaway diablo edge irons the prospect of playing in the final group after the cut.
With now more than 24 hours before he ping k15 irons next tees off, the 2010 Andalucia Open champion doesn’t quite know what to do with himself.
